Tisca Chopra is an Indian film and stage actress. She is welll known for her works in Hindi cinema and Television. Her best known portrayal was in the movie Taare Zameen Par in 2007 which has earned her two awards National and a Filmfare. At the age of 20 she has debuted opposite Ajay Devgan is a movie Platform. She was also seen in the much acclaimed TV show on colors called Prayaschit. She is started her career with the theatre shows and as a model. She maked her debut with the movie Platform in 1993 opposite Ajay Devgan.
She was born on 1 November 1973 in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh, India. She graduated from Apeejay Scholl, Noida where father was the principal of the school. After she studied English Literature at Hindu College, University of Delhi. During her College days she started writing for several publications and also acted in plays for an amateur theater group and college festivals. After her education she shifted to Mumbai and learn formal theater acting from Naseerudding Shah and Feroz Abbas Khan. Tischa decided to do masters after graduation but later changed her mindset and turned towards acting. She has also hosted many award and quiz shows. She is the grand niece of prominent writer Khushwant Singh. She is practicing Buddhist and works with several NGOs supporting education and women rights. She is married to Capt. Sanjay Chopra who is a pilot with Air India.
